Introducing the Irish Chain Quilt! This beautiful quilt was a gift to one of my friends who is moving out of state. Right after I found out she was moving, I knew I had to make a quilt for her. I had a Harvest Road Jelly Roll laying around (for a completely different project) as well as a solid white jelly roll. I saw an Irish Chain Quilt made with this pre-cut and knew that this would be perfect! I love how the colors chain together and the Kona Cadet binding ties it together really well! This quilt finishes at 66 x 84 inches which is a Twin. Supplies for this quilt are: One Printed Jelly Roll (I used Harvest Road by Lella Botique) One Solid Jelly Roll (I used Cotton Couture Soft White) 2.75 Yards Solid Background Fabric 1 Yard Binding (I used Kona Cadet) Batting (I like Hobbs 80/20) 6 Yards Backing Fabric (44 wide) OR 2 Yards Backing Fabric (108 wide) 1-Select two printed fabrics and one solid 2-Sew printed fabric to white, right sides together 3-Sew second fabric to white, right sides together 4-Press towards the printed fabric, this should measure 6.5 (make 16) 5-Trim the selvage off 6-Cut into 2.5 inch strips 7-Follow 1-3 and 5-6 for middle strip set using two white fabrics and one printed (make 8) 8-Press seams for the middle strip set to the printed fabric. 9-Choose two outside strip sets and one middle. 10-Sew together and press (Make 77) Now, take your background yardage and cut into 6.5 inch squares. (Cut 77) Lay out your squares, starting with a nine patch and alternating until there is 11 across. For the second row, start with a white square. Switch off to make the Irish Chain. Continue laying out the squares until your quilt is 11 x 14 squares. Sew squares into rows. Sew rows together to complete quilt top. Quilt and bind as desired. Don't know what to do for quilting? I can help! Fill out the order form and choose a pattern from my pattern page. You can learn more about the services I offer in the "Quilting Services" Tab. Bye for now! Emily Notes:
